PLEASE NOTE THE NEW TIME AGAIN
We know you’re busy and we want to make the show as accessible to you as possible, so we’ve moved up the start time of the program: it’s now airs from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Central Time. However, today’s show will end at 6:30 pm CDT so KLUP can bring you high school football.
However, you choose to spend the weekend, one great way to bone up on the interesting things going on the world is to join me and D.R. McCale on Kicking the Anthill, presented by
heard from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday evenings on AM 930, KLUP, or on the web at http://www.KLUP.com. If you prefer participatory radio, we’d love to hear from you. You can call us at 210-308-8867 (toll free, 866-308-8867) or you can email us at Drexel@KickingTheAnthill.com.
We’ve got a great show for you this week. Are you wondering at all if the Republicans can win this election? And if they lose, how can they win the next one? What’s gone wrong with the Republican Party? DR and I will talk to Ross Douthat this week to answer those and other questions. Ross is a columnist for The Atlantic and the author of a new book called GRAND NEW PARTY: HOW REPUBLICANS CAN WIN THE WORKING CLASS AND SAVE THE AMERICAN DREAM.

Then we’ll talk to Robert Baer a former CIA agent and the author of many book, the most recent of which is THE DEVIL WE KNOW: DEALING WITH THE NEW IRANIAN SUPERPOWER. Robert advocates negotiating and dealing with the Iranians. As much as I don’t like that idea, I agreed with many other aspects of the book.

And we’ll downshift near the end of the show to talk about parenting issues—more specifically, fatherhood. At the end of our lives I suspect we’ll conclude that it relationships in our lives that were the most important. Few things can affect the future more than effectively fathering your son. Author Jeff Purkiss will join us in-studio to discuss his book SQUIRES TO KNIGHTS.
