Are you afraid you don’t have the credentials to compete in today’s job market? Or that your child’s poor performance in school has ruined their chances for success in life? Well, we’re going give those anthills a great big kick today. Our first guest today will be Ron Bliwas the author of THE C STUDENT’S GUIDE TO SUCCESS: How to Become a High Achiever Without the Best Grades, Connections, or Pedigree.
There are things more important to your success than academic achievement. We’ll share those secrets with you today.
And, wow! What an amazing fall we’re having with regards to sports stories. In my mind there are three really compelling stories happening all at once: The Patriots, the University of South Florida college football team (well, until they lost last night, but it’s still a great story) and the Colorado Rockies winning 21 of their last 22 to catapult themselves into the world series.
What really interests me in sports is not the winning and losing, but the interpersonal dynamics of certain teams. And right now I’m fascinated by the Rockies. So we’ll be joined by the Texas Rangers’ Steve Hecht Performance Coach, Steve Hecht. As the Texas Rangers Performance Coach, Steve’s assignment and purpose is to help Texas Rangers players develop specific plans for peak performance. He provides mental skills approaches and exercises for decreasing anxiety and increasing confidence, and assists in dealing with distractions that decrease focus and concentration, by identifying and eliminating factors that undermine potential success.
So we’ll ask him why the Rockies are winning, whether 9 days off is a good thing and maybe, and can they win 4 more.
